According to the International Energy Agency, we are facing “an energy crisis that is truly global”, for the first time. The prices for natural gas, oil and electricity have reached record highs (autumn 2023). On the other hand, as fossil fuels become more and more scarce, their extraction has ever more detrimental consequences for the environment and climate change.
